Claire Wilmot is a research officer on the UKRI GCRF Gender, Justice and Security Hub at the LSE, where she works on a variety of research projects under the Hub’s Law and Policy Frameworks and Methodological Innovation streams. She is also a PhD candidate in LSE’s Department of Gender Studies, where she examines how changes in law and policies around violence against women affect gendered power in everyday experiences and outcomes of justice. She works intermittently as a freelance journalist covering justice systems and inequality.
Prior to joining LSE, Claire worked at the Global Justice Lab at the University of Toronto, where she worked with government officials and civil society on applied research projects pertaining to justice reform and transformation efforts in Nigeria, Canada, the United States, Pakistan, and Ethiopia.
