Panellists:
Clara Lopez Prunonosa - Management Accountant at the British Museum
I graduated from the LSE in 2013, having done BSc International Relations & History. After taking a gap year to work for an NGO in Costa Rica, I worked for EY, where I did a training contract to become a Chartered Accountant. After three exciting but exhausting years in the city, I decided to follow my passion for the Arts & Heritage sector, while re-purposing my accounting skills. I began working for the British Museum in 2018, where I am currently a Management Accountant.
Darren Barker - Founder and Director of Barker Langham
Darren is a Founder of Barker Langham (alongside co-Founder Eric Langham), and leads the company’s work across its strategic, operational, business, analytics, cultural and master planning portfolio. He is a globally experienced and leading cultural and business planner and has developed a diverse range of cultural schemes from museums and historic buildings to parks and landscapes – with work covering vision development, competition brief origination, options appraisals, masterplanning, commercial and operational planning. He is an appointed adviser to the UK Heritage Fund.
The core of his work is planning holistically to ensure the future sustainability of culturally significant assets, places and their future economies. Recent projects include Oman Across Ages Museum, Museum of London West Smithfield, Qasr Al Hosn Fort and Cultural Foundation (Abu Dhabi), Weifang Cultural District (China), Chatsworth Estate, and the development of a brief for new urban park for St Petersburg (Russia).
As part of the development of the company’s work, Darren is also a Director of Barker Langham Recruitment which recruits for key positions in the cultural sector globally, and he lead Barker Langham’s development of its cloud-based business planning tool for the sector – Barker Langham Analytics.
Darren has been on the Blooloop Global Museum Influencers list for 2020 and 2021.
