About me

Sandip recently completed his History PhD at King's College London. His thesis, titled Voluntary Institution Building in India: Non-State Interventions in Technical Education and Training, provides a nuanced understanding and evaluation of the relationship between state and non-state actors.  His research focuses on the histories of non-state actors, the state, and development, with a particular focus on colonial and postcolonial India.  He is currently working on his first monograph, Development and Non-State Actors in Modern India: Agencies, Perspectives and Experiences, 1900-1964, which will be published with Bloomsbury.
