About me

Ben Sayle received his PhD in International History at LSE, researching British political history in the early 20th Century. Specifically, he studied the Edwardian Radical Right during the years 1903-1918, a subset of right-wing advocates within the Conservative/Unionist Party who promoted a broad and interconnected programme for national and imperial revival to counter relative decline in geopolitical and economic predominance.Ben was co-convener for the HY509 PhD and Early Career Research Seminar in 2019/20 and acts as Chair of the Conflict and Identity in Europe Since The 18th Century Research Cluster. He has also had an article published in the Parliamentary History journal on the constitutional policies advocated by Unionist opponents of the 1911 Parliament Act
