Chronos Sustainability Prize winners announced

Congratulations to the winners of the Chronos Sustainability Prizes for Excellence in Social and Environmental Impact, who were announced during a ceremony at LSE on 30 May. These were:

GY326 (Sustainable Business & Finance)
Winner: Xu Gang Metta Ni
Highly commended: Anna Hattam

GY420/465 (Environmental Regulation)
Winner: Fatima Husain
Highly Commended: Tim Hofmann

Kasia Paprocki awarded British Association for South Asian Studies book prize

Kasia Paprocki has been awarded the 2023 BASAS Book Prize for her book, Threatening Dystopias: The Global Politics of Climate Change Adaptation in Bangladesh. The prize aims to encourage and recognise outstanding and bold scholarship on the region of South Asia and its diasporas.

Congratulations to Tanya Matthan, joint winner of the 2021-2022 Bharadwaj-Wolf Prize. Her winning article is titled 'Beyond bad weather: climates of uncertainty in rural India'.

Eric Neumayer appointed LSE's Interim President and Vice Chancellor

LSE is delighted to announce that Eric Neumayer has been appointed as Interim President and Vice Chancellor.

Eric has served our School in numerous leadership positions, including as Head of Department (Department of Geography and Environment), Vice Chair of the Appointments Committee, inaugural Pro-Director (Faculty Development) and most recently as Vice President and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Planning and Resources).  

Eric said: “LSE is a very special place to me. I love the School and its incredible staff, students and friends. There could be no greater honour than to serve the School in this role.”
