Andreas is a PhD Candidate working under the supervision of Prof Michael Storper and Prof Simona Iammarino. His research focuses on applied regional and urban economics, with an emphasis on the role of social networks in determining economic outcomes of people and places. His current work looks at the impact of local economic shocks on regional social capital, and at the role of social connectedness in the transfer of scientific knowledge. Andreas is experienced in the quantitative analysis of regional economies, including the application of spatial econometric techniques and the study of networks.

Prior to pursuing his PhD, Andreas worked as a consultant in Brussels, specialising in the evaluation and study of EU Cohesion policy and the use of ESI funds. He also worked at the European Commission (DG REGIO, Evaluation Unit) as a Bluebook Trainee, where he assisted with the monitoring of the 2007-2013 programmes implementation, and with preparations of the 2014-2020 programming period. Alongside his PhD, Andreas is also Graduate Teaching Assistant for an introductory course in Economic Geography, for which he received an LSE Teaching Award. He previously taught a course on the Economics of European Integration (Department of Economics, Summer School). He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PGCertHE).

Andreas holds a Master in International Economic Policy from Sciences Po (summa cum laude), and a Bachelor in Economics and Management from Bocconi University (cum laude).
