Post-doctoral opportunities

Post-doctoral and research fellows play a significant role in the department’s research environment

As one of the world’s top rated departments of geography, we welcome post-doctoral and research fellows to LSE’s Department of Geography and Environment. Post-doctoral and research fellows play a significant role in the department’s research environment, taking part in research activities while establishing their careers.

We welcome applications for postdoctoral fellowships (from e.g. the British Academy, the Leverhulme Trust, EC MSCA). See the list and application deadlines below.

Competition for these fellowships is intense and will be evaluated by the Departmental Research Committee. In order to develop the strongest possible proposal, you are advised to contact a prospective mentor in the department well in advance of the deadline to discuss your project. There are internal deadlines to facilitate vetting by the Departmental Research Committee (see list below for internal deadlines).

How to apply

All applications must be submitted to geog.research@lse.ac.uk by the relevant internal deadline.

All enquiries should be directed to the Deputy Head of Department for Research, Prof Claire Mercer: c.c.mercer@lse.ac.uk
