In the last two decades some corporations have increasingly engaged in 'positive' climate lobbying, broadly defined as lobbying for policies that are aligned with Paris Agreement goals. This panel discusses this trend’s causes, impact, and concerns.
Meet our speakers and chair
Ed Collins is Director of InfluenceMap, an independent think tank producing data-driven analysis on how business and finance are impacting the climate crisis. Ed has led InfluenceMap's research on lobbying and corporate influence since 2017.
Fergus Green is a Lecturer in Political Theory and Public Policy at University College London. Fergus’s research traverses political theory, political economy, public policy and law. Much of his work is concerned with the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Clare Richards is Senior Engagement Manager at Church of England Pensions Board, where she led the development of the Global Standard on Corporate Climate Lobbying. Clare is currently on secondment as Head of Engagement Initiatives at the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change.
Francisco Garcia-Gibson is a Research Fellow in the Department of Government at LSE.
