How much do they cost?
These courses are available to LSE Students, LSE Staff and LSE Alumni.
Please follow the 'how to register' instructions. All classes on campus and in-person, but please remember the registration process is completely online.
2024/25 prices for non degree language courses
The normal fee (Standard and Fast Track) is
£375
.
Super Standard (there is only one Super Standard course and this is LN773 Russian) is
£565.
How can I pay?
If you are a current LSE student you will be asked to pay the fee for your non-degree modern language course in the same way you make other payments to LSE, via the School's payment portal. Staff and Alumni will be asked to pay for their course via the LSE eShop.
Information will be emailed to you when you complete your registration. Please follow the information within the
'how to register' section for each language
.
What else might I need to know about payment?
If you are an LSE student and you receive funding from your Department, they will confirm with us those eligible for funding. We will take this subsidy into account when asking you to pay the fee for your non-degree modern language course via the School's payment portal.
If you are a member of LSE staff and receive funding from your Department or Service Unit you should register and pay for your course and then submit a claim via One Finance for reimbursement.
For any members of LSE staff in receipt of
Learn for You
funding you should register and pay for your course and then
submit a request for reimbursement using this form
. Based on the level of subsidy you receive we will then refund you through the LSE eShop.
If you are a UK/EU LSE undergraduate student and do not have a GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in a language that is not your tongue you can claim a free language course during your time at LSE. Please check the
LSE Language Policy
for details. You should register for your course and then
complete the LSE language policy claim form to request a refund
. We will then take this into account when adding the fee for your non-degree modern language course to your student fee account. If you have any questions about whether you are eligible or not, you can check with us during our
Live Chat sessions
we hold during registration times.
NB: GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent is the level of our Level 2 (Fast Track), so you would need to be claiming for a course at that level or below.
