Friday/Saturday 17-18 June 2022, Hybrid
The 1st LSE Department of International History Student Conference will be conducted online on June 17-18, 2022. This conference will not be exclusively for LSE students. We hope to offer a platform for humanities students to present their novel and exciting in-progress research and exchange their ideas with students and scholars around the world with different backgrounds and research focuses.
This year’s theme attempts to explore the meanings of “progression” and “retrogression” in different regions and cultures from a historical perspective. How did these terms emerge, construct and be used throughout history? How did people from different regions, cultures, religions, classes, races and with different gender and memory think differently about these two terms? We welcome and encourage submissions from undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students around the world engaged in research that is related to our theme throughout any time period, region and discipline – including but not limited to History, Politics, Sociology, Philosophy, Economic History, International Relations, Gender Studies and more
